Spoonbill Roseate begins to make heart shapes while preening

We noticed a spoonbill roseate hanging out with a wood-stork behind our place.

Later that day, I sat in my chair and received a remarkable moment. There again—the spoonbill—only now it is right next to our screen porch and with a white ibis.

Then it began to preen and in the process made and held heart shapes.
