August rains

The rains continue. I left for an errand after the rain let up.

And returned, again waiting until the rain let up to drive home.

I remember Ed Straight (Wildlife, Inc.) saying that when the storms come, wildlife has a tough time hunting for "supper" in the winds and these sometimes horizontal rains. When I drove in a little while ago, near the Kirkhams unit, two soggy Red-Shouldered Hawks were perched on the light posts.

It's probably a good time to say that I have links (list follows) to my favorite weather websites (right side of this website).

Here is a screengrab of rain and humidity in Pineneedle right now (from Forecast.io). The rains will continue through tomorrow.

Pineneedle today, lush, wet and sub-tropical green.

In this photo, you can see the edge of grass the Grounds Committee is keeping to support pond health. (It seems to be working. And look, a milkweed flower!)
