Wood Stork

This photo reminds me why this bird is called a Wood Stork. I was happy to see it in the live oak tree in Pineneedle. In years past, several Wood Storks would visit and hang out. Now, it seems like they make an occasional visit. However, this might mean that I'm not looking at the time they are here.

I often hear neighbors say, "Where are the birds?" That is when I remember Beth Price's participation in the annual bird count. Beth photo identified over 76 different bird species in our neighborhood. So, when I feel like I'm not seeing birds, I want to remember that this thought means I need to relax and look out and up.
