Common Grackle, 3/23/23
Photo was taken in overgrowth adjacent to Springlakes tennis courts.
This Common Grackle is looking for nesting material. How do I know if it was feeding or gathering material? This photo. Snap! Then it flew across the pond to a treed area where the nest is likely located.
A Common Grackle has pale yellow eyes. BTGs have dark eyes.
For comparison, these are Boat-tailed Grackles. Notice the huge tails and dark eyes. The dark blue BTGs are male. Female grackles are brown. A female is in the lower right. Read some cool facts about them.
